Custom Mini Ramp Build & Install for Access All Areas

Author: WA Skate Ramps

When the owner of Access All Areas Rope Training Facility hit us up looking for a custom mini ramp, we knew this was going to be more than a stock-standard build. They needed a versatile mini ramp that would be great for progression and still bring the heat to a session. This mini needed to be super fun to skate with the aesthetic style to fit seamlessly into their insanely equipped training centre. So, we got to work, crafting a fully custom mini ramp tailored for the space.

THE SPECS - BUILT FOR MORE THAN JUST SKATING

John from Access All Areas came to us with a clear vision: a custom-made mini ramp that he could enjoy with his kids and would regularly be shredded by visitors, all while fitting perfectly into their specialized training facility. We took his ideas and fine-tuned the design to make sure this ramp wasn’t just functional but next level. Here’s what we locked in:

This wasn’t just about building a mini ramp, it was about creating a unique experience for visitors to remember and talk about.

THE DESIGN & BUILD - DIALING IT IN

With the specs locked in, we finalized the custom ramp plans and jumped straight into production. We cut and CNC machined all the custom components at our factory, making sure each and every part was spot-on before loading up and rolling out to Access All Areas to begin the installation.

Over the next two days, our crew got busy building the mini ramp:

  1. Framing up the transitions, extension, and oversized flat bottom.
  2. Squaring everything up to install the two layers of ramp surface.
  3. Ramp Surface secure plywood sub-surface layers & Black Skate Surfaces to the Ramp.
  4. Fitting custom handrail sections on both decks, adding an extra layer of safety and usability.
  5. Cladding the backs of the decks - not just for looks (well, kinda), but also to stop the groms from making a mess under there and to help the ramp stay solid and clean for years to come.

FINAL TOUCHES - READY TO SHRED

Once the ramp was fully assembled, we did our “final quality check” (aka. skated it to make sure everything was locked in and ready to roll). A few days later, we returned to apply a couple of coats of SkateSeal, giving the ramp’s exterior a smooth, natural timber finish. Now, this thing is primed for pure, uninterrupted fun.

THE RESULT - A GAME-CHANGER FOR ACCESS ALL AREAS

When John and his team saw the final product, they were stoked. The ramp fit perfectly into their facility, offering visitors the opportunity to shred and have fun while undergoing their training, as well as providing plenty of unforgettable skate sessions and fun family time.

John’s take on the project?

"Working with WA Skate Ramps was an absolute pleasure. They took our vision and turned it into reality with precision and professionalism. The custom mini ramp is a fantastic addition to our facility, and we couldn’t be happier with the result."
